We help you to understand and use IT – to make your business, your job and your life better
Registering a new domain name with us is a simple process. Here we explain the process and highlight a few points which will make the process go as smootly as possible.
All domain names which end in .uk are administered by Nominet (UK) – the registry for the .uk namespace. We act as a Registrar on behalf of Nominet (UK). Other domain names (including .com, .net., .org and others) are administered by other registries who we have relationships with. See our domain names terms and conditions for more information.
You must provide us with accurate information about your organisation when registering the domain, and ensure that this information is kept up to date if you move premises or change other important information. This information will be published in the global WHOIS database – a publicly searchable database listing contact and registrant information for all domain names.
In the UK, trading businesses or individuals must have valid data in WHOIS, but it is possible for non-trading individuals to opt out of the publication process.
Talk to us if you think this may apply to you or you would like more information.
